Marine Surveys

All  qualified surveyors available to First Marine Services are members of some of  the following associations: R.I.N.A.  Y.D.S.A.   S.A.M.S.  I.A.M.I.  & N.A.M.S.

The fees for surveys are determined by several varying factors. Namely the size of the vessel, the construction (wood, steel, aluminium or f.r.p.), the type of vessel and of course , her location. Cost is also determined by the type of survey.

Options vary from an initial low cost pre-purchase survey overview, which very quickly informs of any obvious fault or discrepancy (thus saving on the cost of a full condition survey every time a boat is prospectively chosen), to the full condition and insurance survey.  The latter is eventually essential for peace of mind; to determine realistic insurance value and to open a path for ultimate negotiation! But you only commission this once for the vessel you intend to buy. It is then time to make a decision on the vessel that is best for you and not necessarily the one you want!!!
